![]() ![]() ![]() Far too many game companies slunk under the shrill cries of the few impatient and end up releasing garbage updates that do nothing to add to the value of the game. Player ships, the old star chart, the now new star chart, Focus, Archwing, Kubrows, Kavats, Various Primes, Dark Sector Armistice, all have had vocal groups of people gaffing on about it till the wee hours of the morning, and yet it changes nothing. This isn't their first rodeo with impatient people, and it wont be their last. If you think that hounding the Devs will simply magically work for any such little nuance like this then you are sorely mistaken. There is more than enough info to cover most people's questions about Umbra already out there, the rest of the questions are reliant on information that is not yet released due to it needing to be agreed upon and finished. Also, if there were to be a FAQ over Umbra it would need to include stuff related to his release and how he and other Umbras are obtained, which again is not finalized yet. They themselves said in a devstream after that comment had been made that talks were still ongoing and there was still confusion on the incident between ChangYou and DE over the release. DE did not lie in this case, they could not release information that was not finalized yet. ![]() ![]() It isnt new or suddenly a new face they are showing. Also if you are one that often atches the streams, they say things that change all of the time. If she gets her info wrong then situations like this happen. Rebecca is not the voice of DE, she is merely an in-between who is frequent with releasing her opinions rather than DE's official stance. It is the same in the real world just as much as it is in this incident. A minority can always seem larger than it actually is just due to the fact that the upset few are far more likely to comment anything than the majority who are perfectly fine with how things are going. This is the exact kind of thing seen in many games across the board, and something I actually had to study in college for video game development. Steve get's angry twitter comments over things like this all the time, but you'd be surprised how even a hundred or two individuals firing off multiple comments and feeding each others comment lines could be seen as annoying, not tens of thousands of people. Yes, I do visit the forums, quite frequently even to read what is going on, and the activity related to Umbra is in no way any more common that any other hot topic that has popped up there over the years. There are tens of thousands of players in this game and I can guarantee that only a fraction are the ones making a fuss over it. DE decided that this line needed some explanation, not just a bullshit "Here ya go!"Ī vocal minority ALWAYS seems to be far larger than it actually is. Excalibur Umbra is just the first they will release. Umbra is not a single frame, it is a small line of Warframes. Or if we look at a recent scenario that was Mios, Mios had its in game model done back in June but was delayed until November because they were "still working on" its animations, imagine if we cried for it back in June and got it early without its "finished" animations and only sword placeholder animations, after all, its not game changing, its only extra mastery and looks coolĪs is, Excal Umbra is exactly the same as base, if released early it would most likely get the pitiful 25 extra armor mirroring the Prime, or even the 50 extra energy that China got, and players would get tired of him after a week and start bombing the forums for his "Umbra system", the cycle continues Its that simple, no1 can cry out in excitement and impatience for Umbra, when that which makes said frame an Umbra doesnt exist, they just want it because it looks cool, which is sadĪ similar scenario would be if a new frame was showcased, every1 cried out for it to be released before that which made it unique, lets say powers, were even thought up, so DE would just hash on another frames powers because the community only liked the looks I would just like to add on that this isnt really a cry for Umbra, it is really a cry for Excalibur Prime, because lets face it.Excal Umbra is basically a Prime - made with Orokin Tech, enhancement over the base frame ![]()
